Church of the Ascension
A report was prepared to evaluate existing condition of the exterior wood skin on the original worship center for the Church. The construction of the original surface was board and batten Cypress wood on wood furring on concrete block. The contemporary design of the structure provided a three-story entrance element with a wooden three-dimensional cross capping the entrance tower. To each side of the entrance tower is a glass vestibule. The Church wanted to provide new, more contemporary materials to the existing structural body of the present facility. These materials are to be low maintenance and have a life longer than the old wood siding. Project included demolition of the old and installation of new exterior surfacing materials.
This is a project developed for Church of the Ascension. Construction value was $430,000.
